I've two vinyl jukeboxes which live in our summerhouse at the bottom of our garden. This dates from 1976. If you know how these work "look away now." The operation is all by leaf switches, solenoid switches, relays and four electric motors. No computers. It contains 80 records, so 160 selections, Credits can be added by coins or added, cancelled or subtracted by credit switches on the control box at the far left of the machine. The coin mechanism at the extreme right end of the box can be set to take the coins of several countries and a vast number of combinations of these coins to give several numbers of plays. They can be set by moving the tags around in the second box. Mine is set on "one coin one play." It uses the old "big 10ps" of which I have many. Having made a selection by using the buttons a combination of copper strips on the wobble plate are made live and the turntable motor engages. Another motor actuates the arm that rotates on the left-hand side of the wobble plate (you don't see this happening as it will have moved and found the record before I opened the lid!) which will stop over the selected pins and move them either up or down depending on whether an "A" or "B" side is selected. The carousel motor then engages and turns both the carousel and the selector on the right hand side of the wobble plate, as the spindle on which the carousel rotates, passes through the left hand selector bearing.
